Brief History of the Parish

St. Joseph Parish, Abesim, was established in 1996 to serve the growing Catholic community in the Sunyani area. The parish began with a small congregation and has grown into a vibrant center of worship, education, and outreach.

Over the years, the parish has built a strong tradition of faith, community service, and spiritual formation. The church has been blessed with dedicated priests, religious, and lay leaders who have guided the community through times of growth and challenge. Today, St. Joseph Parish is known for its active liturgical life, youth and adult groups, and commitment to social and spiritual development.
